January 9, 2012

Dear Family,

Things are going well with Luana, Cristina is still out of town and we haven~t had contact with her for more than a month now. Luana is great, she is ready to be baptized this Sunday. She comes to us with all sorts of questions and we can already see the change the gospel has made in her life. She is so much happier now, its great.

I~m mailing the photos today. They are on three cds because it would have been a ton of photos to print and send.

That~s great to hear everything went well with Calvins blessing. I~m excited to meet him in a little while. Funny story, did you know that Sacramento in Portugues means Sacramental. Whenever I see it know I read it with a Portugues accent.

I do miss American restaurants quite a bit. Chili~s sounds great right now. Yesterday I was in a members house for lunch, and the wife was in the kitchen cooking and I asked the husband, is that barbeque sauce I smell? And he said yup, sure is, we~re having ribs. It was soooooo good, a little taste of America. Apparently you can find BBQ sauce and maple syrup here, but they are both ridiculously expensive. He said a half liter bottle of syrup would be 50 reais or almost 30 dollars. That~s not gonna work for me.

You should get an iPad mom. Everyone is doing it. Even some companionships in the US are receiving them to test them out. In a few years all companionships might have them. I am really excited to show you all the places I lived and such. Google Earth is a pretty neat toy. So I live on the road Jurubatuba, in Ponta da Praia, in an apartment really close  to a big round about. Our chapel in Embare is on Joao Mendes number 66. Did you know that you can use street view to see the city from the street like I do. I~m not sure how to explain it from here, but you should mess around with it.

Sister Tanner is so sweet. I feel like you two would get a long great. So I got the package with root beer, mapeline, and the surprise lemonades  (thank you very much). I haven~t gotten a letter or anything with pictures yet.

Well I hope everything goes well with Brittany and Sawyer, I~m waiting anxiously for news.

I~m glad to hear everything is going well for George. That~s exciting stuff. It would be pretty special to have your brother perform your wedding.

I~m so excited for Candon to get out on the mission. He~s gonna love it. When that does happen could you forward me his emails? I would love to read how things are for him in Bulgaria.

Well I think that~s all for this week. Até semana que vem. Tchau, te amo.

Elder Cameron Bruce

PS Cameron's mother asked:
Do you get to play any soccer on all those fields I saw on Google earth?

Cameron replied:
Nope. I don~t play on fields ever. Just little courts. It~s probably better since we never have enough people to fill up a field.
