May 14, 2012

It was really great to talk to you all last night. It is a really weird experience every time. It doesn't seem real. Also it kind of stinks how quickly time passes during the call. Only 7 months until the next one though. Almost there. Oh and yay, 8 months today.

Yeah they celebrate Mother's Day here too, but no one did anything too special at church. Every week the bishopric calls on a few people to bear their testimony before the talks. So those were almost the only reference to Mothers during the day. Then at lunch we left a message about mothers and we had everyone share something that they learned from their mom. I talked about how I have learned to take care of myself, as in doing my laundry and keeping the house clean and organized. I thought I was a lazy person when it came to those things, but I realize that I actually was taught very well about those things, and I'm glad I'm not having to learn how to take care of myself while on the mission. I have lived with some Elders that are helpless and just dirty. Clearly they didn't learn the same thing from their moms.

Maybe I won't even remember what Olympia was like before anyway. It sounds like so many things are different already. I guess I'll have to do some exploring when I get home.

Well I have just one request.... HOT CHOCOLATE! I have had it the last two days, and nothing is better to be sipping during a cold study time than a nice hot chocolate. The same nestle stuff would be awesome.

Also Elder Perrell talked to his mom yesterday about coming to pick him up from the mission... something to think about, or just coming back for the World Cup a year later.... you know just some thoughts. This was all sparked because they took away the hotel night at the end of the mission, which means that I'll get home one day earlier.

Well yeah. Not too much to say since we talked yesterday. I hope everyone is doing well, until next week. Te amo.

Elder Cameron Bruce
