So just to quickly explain about Santos (my new soccer team) they were playing in a tournament called libertidores which is basically the Champions League of Latin America. They are now in the Semi Finals playing against a cross state rival Corinthians. Corinthians is also the most popular team in São Paulo so lots of people are talking to trash to me. Even though I can't watch the games I still like to mess around with people. It surprising how big a fan I am and I don't even know how Santos plays. I just know they have Neymar who is like a 20 year old phenomenon. He is supposed to be ridiculously good. Also Santos won the Paulista Championship recently. It's basically a mini tournament in just the state of São Paulo, all the states have these before the real regular season.
People talk about soccer a lot here. It's cool though.
The Manuas Temple won't be dedicated until June 10th. I'm doing well in regards to health. I did get the birthday package in the mail. I'm going to make the cake at a members house on Sunday. He is the Elders Quorum President and super cool. He was a teacher at the CTM in São Paulo so he speaks English too. He might be my favorite person in the ward. We're gonna have tacos too! Also there will be a ward activity on my birthday. I'm excited for that. Cause pretty much everyone knows it'll be my birthday and there are a few sisters in the ward that make amazing cakes. Hopefully that all works out. And yes there is ice cream here. It's just not as good. And expensive so I don't eat very much. Except for little soft serve cones which are like 1 real or 50 cents.
I knew John Haywood. He was in our ward for a little while when we showed up in Lacey then he moved. That's awesome that he is going on a mission. Tell him congratulations if you can.
So as far as the work goes, it's still going, we are teaching quite a few people, but they don't seem to be progressing very much. One of the families that we were teaching just kind of started ignoring us and cancelling and "forgetting" all of our appointments. Nothing is worse that walking to someones house to just have no one be there. It's like marking an appointment with us doesn't count. People don't take us seriously a lot. Also when transfers are getting close, like they are right now, and you're pretty sure that you're going to leave, like I am, you get a little un-excited. Not good. But we still have one family that's great. I'll be sure and take a picture with them and send it to you. I think their son will get baptized soon and hopefully the rest of the family will follow.
We went shopping today and I bought a Brazil flag. WOOOOT.
Well that's all I can think of for today. Até mais. Te amo
